The USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum is proud to present CarrierCon 2022, a convention celebrating cosplay, tabletop gaming, and Western and Japanese media. The USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that utilizes USS Hornet and the collections, exhibitions and educational programming to promote awareness and understanding of history, science, technology, and service. All proceeds made from CarrierCon go to support the USS Hornet Sea, Air and Space Museum.

CarrierCon is an opportunity for people of all ages to share their love of cosplay and media while supporting a Bay Area local museum. The inaugural CarrierCon brought 700 guests aboard in 2019. Unfortunately, the 2020 and 2021 CarrierCons were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CarrierCon 2022 will be requiring proof of vaccinations at the door as well as masks while at the Museum.

CarrierCon is a way for the Museum to engage with new audiences and broaden awareness of our museum as well as to celebrate the ingenuity of technology and engineering for both the living and workspaces aboard this historic aircraft carrier. It was created by the Museum Staff to combine and share passions for popular culture and history, as pop culture superstars from movies to television shows to video games have all pulled heavily from military and Navy ships, uniforms, and general aesthetics. CarrierCon exists to educate about these influences as much as it exists as a celebration of popular culture.
